Thomas has used powerful leadership abilities, tireless work ethic, and enthusiasm for the sport to turn into a driving force in the evolution and marketing of small league and semi-professional soccer throughout the Midwest.

JT Thomas’ soccer career’s narrative can be broken up into three chapters: participant, trainer, and executive order. Thomas’ collegiate career began in Fort Scott Community College (Kansas) in 1992. After his sophomore season, Thomas moved to West Virginia University (WVU).

In two seasons in Fort Scott – equally as staff captain – Thomas got two All-Kansas Jayhawk Conference honors at outside linebacker and Defensive Player of the Game in 1992’s Valley of the Sun Bowl. At inside linebacker for WVU, Thomas obtained two Mountaineer Club awards for on-field excellence, got two All-Big East team honors, also won Defensive Player of the Game at the 1994 CarQuest Bowl. In addition, he led both teams every year.

An effective college career directed Thomas to the semi-pro soccer circuit in 1996 together with the Charleston Rockets, where he managed to play former WVU excellent Major Harris. Returning to outside linebacker, Thomas led the team in tackles and turned into a league All-Star since the Rockets completed their 11-game regular season 10-1. Thomas tried to take his victory out of semi-pro ball into the Arena Football League in 1997 together with the Albany Firebirds, but continued a career ending leg injury on the next day of training camp.

Rather than pads and a helmet, the measure of Thomas’ soccer career featured clipboard and a headset. Following a stint as Defensive Coordinator to get a championship group of 13-16-year-olds, Thomas returned to semi-pro soccer in 2000 as Head Coach of the West Virginia WHAM! Located in Morgantown, WV, Thomas compiled a .695 winning percent (41 wins, 18 losses), won three Coach of the Year awards and coached three league All-Star matches in six seasons since WHAM! Head coach.
